PARIS (AFP) ― As humans retreat into their homes as more and more countries go under coronavirus lockdown, wild animals are slipping cover to explore the empty streets of some of our biggest cities.

점점 더 많은 나라가 코로나바이러스 차단을 위해 봉쇄에 들어가며 사람들이 자택으로 대피하자, 인간이 만들어낸 도시들의 텅 빈 거리를 야생동물들이 탐험하고 있다.

He told AFP that foxes were at the vanguard of the new urban explorers. “They change their behavior very quickly. When a place becomes quiet, they're straight in there.”

그는 AFP통신에 여우들이 새로운 도시 탐험가의 선봉에 있다고 말하며 "여우들은 행동을 매우 빨리 바꾼다. 한 장소가 조용해지면 그들은 바로 거기로 향한다"고 덧붙였다.

Animals and birds that normally live in urban parks, like sparrows and pigeons are also more likely to venture beyond their usual territories, Julliard said, “freeing a space for other animals.”

줄리아드 연구실장은 참새나 비둘기처럼 도시공원에서 주로 서식하는 동물과 새들도 기존 영역에서 벗어나 모험을 할 가능성이 크다며 “이들의 빈자리를 다른 동물들이 채운다”고 말했다.
